- First, make sure you have all the bids you’ve received so far on hand
- Enter in the line items from the bids on the far left column under Item Description
- Enter in the quantity needed for each in the next column
- For each contractor, enter in the bid unit price for each item
- The total bid cost will be calculated automatically in the following column as you enter the unit price for each contractor
- Once all the line items have been entered, compare the total bid cost at the bottom of the spreadsheet and the percentage difference for each contractor compared to the average total bid
